Question

What kind of knowledge does technology satisfy?

I don't think the purpose of technology is to satisfy any particular knowledge, per se. Rather, I see knowledge as part of a cycle which acts as a both a result and catalyst for the development of knowledge.

In some cases, technology is a byproduct of the application of certain knowledge. On the other hand, technological advances permit the discovery and development of knowledge, which then produces other technology, and so the cycle continues.

An example of the former case is the development of the Internet which has its roots in millenia of scientific knowledge

An example of the latter, is the way in which the Internet then allows a wider range of people to communicate more people freely. The interaction of these various sources of information allows those people that are connected to develop their knowledge more easily than, say, if we they had to visit each other in person. Through this passing of knowledge they might develop some other sort of technology and the cycle recommences.

I only use the Internet as an example because, to be honest, it's the first thing that came to mind.

The quality of knowledge that technology helps to develop is not an issue for this discussion, i believe. There is no guarantee of quality irrespective of the method in which knowledge is developed (i.e. with the help of technology or without it)

BTW, who changed the style of the blog?

Oops, forgot to add - nice question - I hadn't really thought about it before.

How about I re-align the question into "Is knowledge the process or the result of a process?"

Regarding your point about the quality of knowledge, this seems closer to what I initially had in mind with my question.

PS: Who changed the style of the blog? Uhm... if it wasn't you then maybe... LOL
